Ruben Garcia: "Migrant Accompaniment in an Era of Mass Deportation”

Ruben Garcia will speak about migrants and refugees’ experiences of hardships and struggles. Questioning not only about what is being done to migrants and refugees but what is happening to us individually, as a people and a nation.  

Ruben Garcia is the Founder and Executive Director of Annunciation House in El Paso, Texas, where he has dedicated over four decades to supporting migrants and refugees through advocacy, hospitality, and education. Ruben Garcia was born and raised in El Paso, a border city with deep connections to both the US and Mexico. His family lived on both sides of of the border, which shaped his understanding of the complexities surrounding immigration and the lives of those seeking refuge. This background instilled in him a commitment to social justice and humanitarian aid.

This is a hybrid event with participation both online and in-person. The event setting is El Convento at Loretto Academy, 1300 Hardaway St., El Paso, TX 79903. For those unable to attend in-person, a Zoom link will be provided.
